"From the very first "Arrgh!" to the end of Tim Sonefelt's Pirates of the Carolinas, we felt like pirates had certainly come to visit! Our students enjoyed the engaging show which incorporated fun facts about North & South Carolina pirates using music, puppets, magic, & storytelling. Tim has joined us for several years now with different shows & we always look forward to his performances. Well done, Tim!!!!. I'm sorry I didn't get pictures, I was laughing so hard I couldn't hold the camera still!"

Were pirates real?

Is this a Social Studies assembly or a Reading assembly?
Yes! Actually it's both! I use different books and genres to cover the historical points discussed and encourage students to find out more on their own by reading. So yes, Pirates of the Carolinas is multi-disciplinary!

Watch the entire student body become a part of the ship's crew and end up cheering for a treasure hunt in the library - all using the Dewey Decimal System as a Treasure Map. This 'treasure hunt' requires NO preparation on your part because the books are the treasure!
Kid Friendly Pirates?
